Dear Parents,
The theme for the week is: "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". We will be doing a science experiment with a coffee filter. We will be making a large dot with a black permanent marker and see how the colors that are used to make the color black begin to separate and make a rainbow.
In class this week we will be working on learning about the letter Vv and making a "word wall". The children will give me words that begin with the sound of the letter Vv. Please have your child print the letter Vv and hand it in by Wednesday.
We will be reviewing the numbers 1-20 in class. We are going to practice recognizing the numbers 11-20 in and out of order. Please work with your child on doing the same thing at home, so as to reinforce what I teach in class. The children will need to trace the numbers on each train in class. Practice printing the numbers at home as well and hand it in by Friday.
The student of the week is Yaritza Zambrano. She will need to bring in one show and tell item every day that she is in school. Yaritza will need to put together an "all about me" poster with pictures of her favorite things. Please hand it in by Wednesday. One of Yaritza's family member will need to come in at 10:30 on Friday to read two stories to the class. The children always look forward to having you, their parents, come into the classroom.
All the pre-school children will be taking spring pictures on Wednesday, March 10th. Please make sure that the children all dress up (casual). You don't have to send the money in now, but you can pay after you see how the pictures turned out.
This week I will also be testing the children for progress reports. They will be sent home to you on March 15th instead of the 16th.
My prayers are with you and your families during this Lenten Season!
Thank you and God Bless You,
Sr. Maria
